Tradition In Transition (Tru Thoughts, 2009) was the presentation of new draft Quantic, Flowering Inferno's successor: Quantic & His Combo Barbaro. Like previous proposals by the British producer Will Holland America adventure was received with enthusiasm by critics and sold fairly well, ie as well as they can be sold a work as personal and away from the commercial aspects.

The album was the starting point of a long tour that Quantic he combined with the creation of his second work as Flowering Inferno, Dog With A Rope (Tru Thoughts, 2010), a success over its already extensive and always interesting discography. Well, as expected in 2011 a second album by Quantic & His Combo Barbaro that did not arrive, and while the debut had already drawn two singles, Linda brown / Enyer Kumba and a song to my land, Tru Thoughts had to raise a third party to offer anything new to the many fans of Quantic and its various projects. Thus was born Caliventura Remixes EP, welcome benchmark against which we can finally hear remixes of the original Quantic Barbaro And His Combo. And none so desired and included in the face B, featuring Un Canto A Mi Tierra, by far the most memorable track on the disc, one in which the singer Nidia Góngora seduces with its natural charm. Is a round these parts as any remix can continue to approach their achievements, but the two brave producers, J Boogie and Cut Chemist (ex-Jurassic 5), did a good job. The rest of the EP, the biggest surprise is the key review Daedelus and Computer glitch that Jay proposed to Underlivered Letter, although the most effective review, though not as imaginative, is the DJ Pan

Quantic & his Combo Barbaro - Remix EP Caliventura

This new EP includes remixes of tracks fromQuantic and His Combo Barbaro's immensely Acclaimed ‘Tradition In Transition’ and new unreleased material.

It’s very interesting to listen to the different approaches that producers J Boogie, Cut Chemist, Dj Day, Jeremy Sole and Daedelus take to Quantic and his Combo Barbaro’s music. J Boogie and Cut Chemist both made a remix version of ‘Un Canto A Mi Tierra’, by both adding new tropical influenced beats to the original mix. In his version, J Boogie added flute lines, soft keyboards and dub delays while Cut Chemist went ahead and added some percussive vibes. On the other hand, dj Day kept his remix very downtempo with the ‘Mas Pan’ remix. Daedelus put ‘Undelivered Letter’ up side down with heavy Jungle beats in line with the Ninja Tune sound. Last, Jeremy Sole, in a very wise twist, took ‘Cancao do Deserto’ into Arthur Verocai’s territory by highlighting piano lines and orchestration.

It’s undeniable the impact that Quantic’s music and his personal Tropcial approach to music has these days among music lovers from different backgrounds. Nobody is left indifferent to the signature sound that he stamps on his creations. It was in 2009, when the highly acclaimed Tradition In Transition was released worldwide. Quantic recorded the album mainly in Cali (Colombia) with the support of Combo Barbaro, a band created for this particular project and formed by an eclectic group of master musicians and singers. Nevertheless, the string arrangements are by no other than Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai, which are key to provide a smooth and warm feeling through out the album. Once Quantic got on the analog mixing board, connected all the dots then Tradition in Transition turned into the timeless masterpiece that we can’t get tired of listening to.

Release date on Tuesday, March 15th, and available for pre-order at Fat Beats: http://fatbeats.com/catalog/product...

Quantic will be touring the US and Canada during the next few days. We are positive that he will get the crowd dancing with some hard to find Colombia Cumbia and fresh Tropical beats.
