Soviet scientist Vladimir Ivanovich Vernadsky wrote in 1926 "the biosphere", a term that at this stage of the twentieth century was not used. Defined it as the place of life in the known universe. Vernadsky brought to life ("living matter" he called it) into the cosmos. It was the first to study the effects of deforestation on climate, to study the effects of solar and cosmic radiation on living organisms, to study the function of the ozone layer and global warming, was the first to put ecology on a scientific basis. The biosphere, as Vernadsky, expresses the dialectical interaction of both the inert component as the living, and even spoke of the existence of a third party, the noosphere, which expresses human intervention on the universe around him. Geology, biology and culture are interdependent. The three areas expressed successive stages of evolutionary development of matter.
