Gollum is a character of Middle-earth in the universe of JRR stories Tolkien. His original name was Smeagol, Gollum was named in reference to noise regurgitant she did with her throat.
His birth is estimated that occurred in the year 2430 of the Third Age. His death (given in the chronology of The Lord of the Rings) was on 25 March 3019 of the Third Age, the fall, along with the One Ring in the Cracks of Mount Doom. Their life span was extended beyond its natural limits the effect of possessing the One Ring, a supernatural age for a creature that was once a Hobbit, although it was distorted and corrupted in mind and body by the power of the ring.
